VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
A Vancouver police officer has been arrested and is accused in a domestic violence case.
On Sunday, a report was made to the Vancouver Police Department about a domestic violence situation involving one of their officers, and on Tuesday, Vancouver Police officials requested the Camas Police Department initiate a criminal investigation.
Gerardo Gutierrez, 43, was arrested by Camas Police detectives Wednesday afternoon.
He is currently assigned as a Vancouver Police Department School Resource Officer and has been placed on administrative leave. He is an 8-year veteran of the force and had previously worked with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gutierrez was booked into the Clark County Jail and faces two misdemeanor counts of Assault IV – Domestic Violence.
