Andy wants to know: Did Juanita's change its tortilla chip recipe?

Posted: Updated:

In between weather segments Thursday morning, Andy Carson brought up a burning question: Are Juanita's tortilla chips thicker than they used to be?

The thin, crispy chips from Hood River-based Juanita's Fine Foods have been a favorite in many Pacific Northwest households for years.

After hearing Andy discussing the chips Thursday morning, a representative from Juanita's called in to Good Day Oregon to set the record straight.

Christie Weekly said the chips have changed slightly in size, with the newer product being larger and wider than before.

However, Weekly said the company has not changed the recipe for the chips in any way.

So Juanita's are still the same chips people in the Pacific Northwest have come to love; they're just a little bigger to help you scoop up some of your favorite salsa.
