Police investigating NE Portland shooting; victim seriously injured

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police and the Gang Enforcement Team are investigating a shooting in northeast Portland that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to Northeast 6th and Alberta Street at 5:52 p.m. Thursday.

A man in his late 20s was found suffering from traumatic injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition, according to police.

Neighbors said they heard what sounded like 10 shots.

Officers searched the area for suspects, but none were immediately located.

The suspects are described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s and a second black man in his 30s, 5'8" to 5'10" with a medium build.

Police believe the shooting may be gang-related.

Streets were closed in the area as part of the crime scene.

Homicide detectives were on-scene investigation due to the extent of the victim's injuries.
