Fire damages shop, house in Lebanon

LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

The Lebanon Fire District responded to its second shop fire in three days.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 11:05 a.m. Thursday. When crews arrived, they a 40-by-24 shop on fire with flames starting to extend into a house about 15 feet away.

Firefighters quickly put water on the house to prevent any further damage. The home sustained only minor damage.

Lebanon Fire Dist. said because of the lack of fire hydrants in the rural area, additional water tenders were brought in.

Firefighters spent over two hours fighting the fire. No injuries were reported.

Lebanon Fire Dist. said the cause of the fire is the result of a person welding near open fuel containers.
