PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A bar owner chased down a vandal and held the suspect for police after he broke the bar window, according to Portland police.

Central Precinct officers responded to Northwest 8th Avenue and Couch Street at around 6:45 p.m. Thursday on the report of two men fighting in the street.

Officers arrived and found one of the men was the owner of Splash Bar, located at 904 Northwest Couch Street.

According to Portland Police, the owner of Splash Bar had chased down a man who threw a large brick through one of the bar’s windows, breaking it and a table inside the bar.

As the bar owner confronted the suspect, the bar manager checked security video to make sure it was him.

The suspect tried to pull away from the bar owner, who then took him down and held him for police.

According to police the suspect, Liam Patrick Somers, 36, is in custody.

Somers is booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of criminal mischief in the first degree.
