DALLAS, OR (KPTV) -

The quiet community of Crooked River Ranch in central Oregon turned into a double homicide scene over the weekend, when police found the bodies of 18-year-old Bailee Southwick and 21-year-old Mackenzie Lyman.

A neighbor said the suspect, 20-year-old Mitchell Morris, never talked much, and described him as being "just different."

Morris appeared in court in Jefferson County on Monday facing charges of murder, aggravated murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police said the suspect and victims all lived in a house together on the 9000 block of Southwest Sand Ridge Road, where the bodies were discovered Friday night.

Court documents state Morris told detectives that he first shot Southwick, who was sitting on the couch, and he then shot Lyman when she came out of her bedroom. Morris said both victims said something to the effect of, "What the ****?" to him as the incident unfolded.

A probable cause affidavit states Morris told detectives he threw the gun down, packed a bag and took off in Southwick's truck right after the shooting.

Morris was caught by police in Salem on Saturday. Viewer video sent to FOX 12 showed officers holding him at gunpoint.

A probable cause affidavit states Morris confessed to the shootings shortly after his arrest, but a motive was not clear. According to court documents, Morris told detectives the three of them had not been fighting or arguing prior to the shootings.

Dallas School District administrators said all three attended Dallas High School, but they did not graduate from the school.

Morris is being held without bail and his next court date is scheduled for Friday.
