PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Parents welcomed Leap Year babies at Portland-area hospitals Monday, including twins.

Lisa and Cameron Hollis welcomed twin girls at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Monday morning.

They chose to have the twins, named Harper and Griffey, on Monday for a special reason.

This date will have Harper celebrating her birthday on Feb. 28 while Griffey will be celebrating hers on March 1, so the twins will have one thing they are not grouped together on.

Cameron said Griffey was named after Ken Griffey Jr., who was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in January. He added that he is pretty confident she is the first girl with that name.

And at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, parents Erin and Brian Davidson welcomed their second child Monday afternoon.

She is a healthy baby girl, and her name hadn’t quite been decided yet.
