PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Over 24 hours later, fire crews are still on the scene at the Sundance Marina on Hayden Island Tuesday morning after a massive fire severally damaged a boat storage warehouse Sunday night.

Over 100 Portland and Vancouver firefighters responded to the 4-alarm fire around 10:30 p.m.

The 72 thousand square foot warehouse at the time of the fire had around 350 boats stored in stacked fashion, according to officials.

Between boat fuel, fiberglass, and other materials inside the building, fire crews had a difficult time containing the fire.

Fire hydrants were scarce and officials said crews were forced to bring in three fire boats to fight the fire with water from the river.

Firefighters said part of the building did collapse but luckily the owner was able to get into the office to gather important documents.

There is no word yet on how much damage has been done to the facility and the boats inside. Estimates are expected to be in the millions of dollars.

Firefighters said they plan to get inside the building Tuesday once it is safe in order to investigate the cause of the fire.
