MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A pregnant woman was killed when a tree fell onto her car near Troutdale on Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene on Southeast Oxbow Drive south of Division Drive at around 6:45 a.m.

Investigators said the woman was driving west on Oxbow Drive when a tree on the south side of the road came down across both lanes, hitting the driver's side of her vehicle.

Deputies said another driver behind her saw the tree fall and tried to help the woman until emergency crews arrived.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said she was the only person inside the vehicle.

The woman was identified by deputies as Kristi Leigh Oliver, 30, of Troutdale. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

Friends of Oliver have set up a GoFundMe page to benefit her husband and 3-year-old son.

Southeast Oxbow Drive was closed between Division Drive and 322nd Avenue until around noon.
