ST. HELENS, OR (KPTV) -

A murder suspect turned himself in to deputies after being indicted on murder charges.

Randall Lee Pritchard, 49, of Rainier, was booked into the Columbia County Jail on one count of murder and a warrant out of Washington on escape charges.

Pritchard is accused of killing Christopher Earl Heller, 30, of Rainier, in July 2015.

Deputies responded to reports of an assault at a home on the 68000 block of Whitney Road in the Goble area the evening of July 21.

When first responders arrived, Heller had already been transported to the hospital. He died a week later at the hospital.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the Columbia County Major Crimes Team investigated the case and Pritchard was identified as the suspect.

No other details were released about the investigation.

Pritchard pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday. He is being held in jail without bail.
