Deputies: Four injured in crash on Hwy 20 near Corvallis

A single vehicle crash near Corvallis early Thursday morning seriously injured three people, and another person suffered minor injuries according to the Benton County Sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the crash happened on Highway 20 just north of Conifer Boulevard at around 4:50 a.m.

Nicole Altheide, 21, of Portland, was driving west on Highway 20 in a 2004 Toyota Minivan, and collided head-on with a large tree for unknown reasons.

Deputies said the van was heavily damaged, and ended up on its roof in the yard of a home

Laura Gorzynski, 21, of Corvallis, Aaron Byers, 21, of Corvallis and Samuel Van Dyke, 22, of Philomath, were passengers in the van.

All four passengers in the car were taken to a local hospital.

Nicole Altheide, Laura Gorzynski, and Aaron Byers suffered serious injuries, and Samuel Van Dyke suffered minor injuries, according to deputies.

Alcohol and drugs may have been factors in the crash.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash and the public is asked to contact Deputy Brian Lundy at 541-766-6858 if they have any information.
