Man arrested after police find stolen handgun during traffic stop

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A traffic stop Friday evening led the arrest of a man on gun and drug related charges, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team officers stopped a car at 10:25 p.m. in the 17600 block of Northeast Halsey Street after observing the car did not have working taillights.

During the traffic stop, officers found a stolen handgun inside the car.

Police said based on information learned during the traffic stop, officers arrested the driver, 36-year-old Jazman Moore.

Moore was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, and tampering with evidence.

The passenger in the car, Xavier Thoele, 24, was alo  lodged into the Multnomah County Jail on a parole violation according to police.
