Oregon gas prices climb after dropping for weeks

Posted: Updated:

Gas prices are beginning to rise throughout the country, including Oregon.

According to AAA, Oregon prices for regular unleaded gas have risen 7.6 cents is the past week alone, bringing the state average up to $1.987 per gallon.

AAA said Portland average prices per gallon have increased to $1.981, about 7 cents higher than last week.

Washington is seeing a rise in prices as well, with 6.7 cent increase to $2.101 average according to AAA.

Gas officials said the price increase could be attributed to transitioning to summer-blend gasoline.

Oregon was recently in a lull of low gas prices the last several weeks, with averages reaching below $2.00 back in January.
