Two people seriously injured after crash in rural Benton Co.

BENTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash that seriously injured two people on March 3.

BCSO said around 6:56 p.m., Kelly Willson, 38, from Monroe, was driving westbound on South Fork Road near Hubert K McBee Memorial Park, when she drove off the south side of the roadway. Wilson over corrected, lost control of the vehicle, the driver's side of the vehicle collided with a large concrete sign for the park. The vehicle received major damaged. 

Wilson was extricated from the vehicle by the Monroe and Alsea Fire Departments. She and her passenger, Kenneth Hathaway, 26, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries. Wilson was later flown to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland later that evening.

BCSO said alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash.
