PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An undercover operation led to the arrest of a man accused of stealing expensive Lego sets from Fred Meyer and then selling them online.

Portland Police Bureau detectives began working with Fred Meyer loss prevention officers on the case late last month.

Investigators said the suspect, 25-year-old Pavel Illich Kuzik, would steal the Lego sets and other items from stores and then quickly resell them using the website OfferUp.com.

Police said Kuzik was arrested Thursday after he agreed to sell stolen Legos to undercover officers.

Police said he was driving a stolen car when he was arrested. In addition to theft charges, detectives said Kuzik also had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and said more charges are expected in this case.

The Portland Police Bureau advised people to be cautious about new items being sold at a discount online by third-party sellers, as the items may be stolen, yet difficult to trace.
