Women are taught self-defense techniques, but they also learn about self-confidence, self-awareness and even how to stop a fight before it even starts.
Angela Erickson is transitioning from being homeless, and said assaults happen all the time on the streets.
"Assault is really likely to occur at some point and a lot of women just take it thinking there's nothing they'll be able to do, they won't be able to find anyone that will be able to protect them and help take care of them while they're out on the street,” she said. “It's really sad and it happens all the time"
The class is held every Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
