Police: Man injured in gang-related shooting outside Gresham apartment

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

A man was found injured by gunfire in a Gresham apartment parking lot Wednesday night, according to Gresham Police.

Police say they received a call around 6:20 p.m. about a shooting in the 17800 block of NE Oregon Street.

When police arrived they found an man injured in the parking lot of the Village Court Apartments. The man was taken to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries is not known.

Police learned that several shots were fired by a suspect wearing dark clothing. The gunfire hit the victim at least once and hit a nearby apartment. No one inside the apartment injured.

Police said based on witness statements, the shooting is likely gang-related and the East Metro Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.
