Wind storm knocks out power to hundreds along coast

OREGON COAST (KPTV) -

Hundreds of coastal residents are without power Thursday morning after a high wind storm ripped through the Oregon and Washington coast Wednesday night.

Pacific Power said 1,824 customers in Arch Cape, Cannon Beach, Gearhart, Hammond, Seaside, Warrenton currently have no power as of 6 a.m.

About 22,000 customers were without power overnight, according to Pacific Power.

Power officials said on site repairs are currently underway, but there is no word on how long it will be before power is restored.  

High winds also knocked out power to about 2500 customers in Multnomah and Clackamas counties overnight, according to Portland General Electric.

As of 6 a.m Thursday morning. PGE officials said about 1,150 are still without power in those counties.
