PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland massage therapist is accused of sexually abusing a woman during a massage, and police believe there may be additional victims.

Benjamin Thomas Collura, 32, was arrested Wednesday by Portland Police Bureau Sex Crimes Unit detectives.

The investigation began in late February when police were contacted by a 31-year-old woman who said her massage therapist, Collura, had sexually abused her during a massage.

The alleged abuse occurred at River's Edge Hotel & Spa on the 400 block Southwest Hamilton Court.

According to court documents, Collura initially denied the allegations to detectives, but eventually confessed.

"She complained immediately to available managerial staff, then went to police and that brought that guy's reign to an end.," said the victim's attorney Gregory Kafoury.

"She's proud of herself for having stepped forward, its unnerving to call the police and to report this sort of thing, because you don’t know if you’re going to be believed," Kafoury added.

Kafoury tells FOX 12 they're now pursuing a civil suit.

"It's tough but it's strong women who stop these guys, and it’s a strong woman who stopped this guy," he said.

River’s Edge Hotel & Spa General Manager Antonio Recillas issued this statement to FOX 12 about the allegations:

"The River’s Edge Hotel & Spa takes any situation of misconduct extremely seriously. The person in question has been terminated and is in the hands of the Portland police department. While this is an extremely unfortunate situation, we are relieved to know that the individual is in custody. The safety and comfort of our guests is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to aid the police in any way we can."

Detectives said Collura previously worked at two Massage Envy locations between 2010 and 2013, one in John's Landing in southwest Portland and one in the Lloyd District in northeast Portland.

Based on the investigation, detectives said they believe there may be other victims who have not reported abuse to police.

Anyone with information about Collura or other possible victims should contact Detective Jeff Myers at 503-823-0595 or jeff.myers@portlandoregon.gov.

Collura was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of second-degree sex abuse and third-degree sex abuse. He posted bail and made his first court appearance on Thursday. He pleaded not guilty.

Collura did not want to comment on the allegations brought against him outside the courtroom Thursday.

According to court records, he has no known criminal history.
