CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

A Beaverton woman suffered serious injuries in a crash that left her car crushed under a semitrailer on Highway 34.

Emergency crews responded to Milepost 5 just east of Corvallis at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 21-year-old Damoneisha D. Calhoun was heading west on the highway when a 2015 Kenworth truck towing a trailer pulled out onto the highway from Oakville Road North and began to turn toward the eastbound lanes.

The Cobalt collided with the semitrailer.

Calhoun was trapped in the car and had to be rescued by firefighters. She was taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious.

Police said she was wearing a seatbelt and her airbag deployed at the time of the crash.

The truck driver, 55-year-old Charles Brennan of White City, was not injured.

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing to investigate the crash. No citations have been issued at this time.
