EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

It's was one of the biggest 'job interviews' in what they hope is their soon-to-be professional careers.

Today was pro day for seniors on the University of Oregon football team.

Unlike last year's media crush with live national broadcasts following every step and throw from quarterback Marcus Mariota, this Oregon pro day was more on the tame side.

However, it did feature another Hawaiian-born Duck who is projected as a top-five pick in next month's NFL Draft.

DeForest Buckner is rated by some as the number one interior defensive lineman in the country. The 6-foot-7, 290-pound Pac-12 defensive player of the year passed on the pros a year ago to return for his senior season.

The college season also featured a new quarterback under center taking Mariota's place for the Ducks.

Many Duck fans still ask themselves, "what if' Vernon Adams remained healthy?"

He suffered a broken finger in week one and then a concussion before the team's epic collapse in the Alamo Bowl.

So what if the one-year grad transfer from Eastern Washington gets his shot in the NFL?

"I came here and learned the offense in three weeks," he said. "I'll bring a lot to the table."

Adams, who could be a late sixth or seventh-round selection, continues to be knocked for his stature. He stands 5-foot-11, but so too did a certain Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Seattle, Russell Wilson.

"I'm not the tallest guy but I make it happen," Adams said.

The first round of the NFL Draft kicks off April 28 in Chicago with Mariota's Titans first on the clock.
