VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Vancouver Police have identified two suspects that were allegedly involved in firing shots in a neighborhood near Washington Elementary School Thursday morning.

Police said 27-year-old Anthony Schierer and 27-year-old Joseph Cunningham were arrested and taken to Clark County Jail.

Officers will called to the scene at 3:15 a.m. Thursday after reports of gun shots in the area.

They saw two men near the school, and said they heard the shots being fired in their direction, leading officers to duck behind their patrol vehicle.

Investigators said the responding officer saw the two men running into a home on the 1700 block of East 29th Street.

The department's SWAT team responded to the scene and the men were arrested without incident.

Schierer and Cunningham are appearing in court at 9 a.m. Friday.
