LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

Two men were arrested after police responded to the report of a shooting at a grocery store parking lot in Lebanon Thursday evening, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of shots fired at the Crowfoot Grocery Store, located at 115 Central Avenue, at 8:35 p.m.

According to deputies, Richard Taylor, 51, of Lebanon, was parked at the store with a female passenger when he was confronted in the parking lot by Michael Hoffman, 43, of Harrisburg.

During the confrontation, Hoffman broke out the driver’s side window of Taylor’s car and struck him several times in the face, according to deputies.

Hoffman then went back to his own car to leave the scene when Taylor, armed with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, fired three shots at him.

Nobody was hit, according to deputies.

Taylor told deputies he was only shooting at the tires of Hoffman's car, and was not trying to hurt him.

Deputies said that two did know each other.

Taylor was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a firearm, according to deputies.

Hoffman was arrested for Criminal Mischief II, Assault IV, and possession of methamphetamine.
