PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police said a man caused a ruckus inside a northwest Portland gym because he wanted to go to jail.

Portland Police arrested Randall Cooley Tuesday night. They say he swung a wooden dowel at employees inside the 24 Hour Fitness in the Pearl District.

The gym manager says he also threw a chair and a manikin. When asked to leave, the manager says Cooley threatened to kill him.

According to court documents, when asked why he did it, Cooley said he wanted to go to jail.

Cooley is being charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and interfering with an officer.
