PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A lot of Portlanders are upset after tickets for an upcoming Dave Chappelle show sold out in just seconds.

Chappelle is playing four shows at the Aladdin Theater starting Tuesday. The tickets went on sale Thursday, but sold out almost immediately.

The venue has a plan to prevent those tickets from being resold, though.

The theater released a statement saying they are going to require photo ID to match all tickets in an attempt to prevent people from selling tickets to buyers at a price above face value.

They aren't letting people transfer tickets either, and are watching online resale sites to cancel any suspicious orders.

Theater mangers also have a plan to crack down on cell phone use.

The theater says the performances are strict “no phones allowed” shows, and the folks at the Aladdin are so serious about this no cell phone policy that they noted everyone will be subject to a pat down.

Anyone caught with a phone inside the venue will be kicked out.

The Aladdin reports there is a little hope for fans who weren't able to snag tickets, saying more tickets will open up as they cancel any of the scalper orders.

Theater staff encourage fans to keep an eye on their event page for any available tickets.
