Police: Man critically injured in Longview hit-and-run; driver arrested

A 55-year-old man was critically injured when he was hit by a car in Longview on Sunday night. The driver is now facing charges including hit-and-run.

Police responded to 15th Avenue and Hudson Street at 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Michael Cameron of Longview was found at the scene suffering from severe injuries. He was flown to a Portland hospital and remained in critical condition Monday.

The Longview Police Department posted information about the case on Sunday night asking for the public's help locating the suspect vehicle, an older red Honda car with front end damage.

Kelso Police Department officers located the car early Monday morning.

Daryl Thomas Long, 42, of Kelso, was arrested on charges of vehicular assault, hit-and-run and driving while license was suspended or revoked.

According to court records, Long was convicted of DUI, reckless endangerment and driving with a suspended license in 2014. He was also convicted of driving with a suspended license in 2009, 2010 and 2012.
