SANDY, OR (KPTV) -

A 150-foot cedar tree came down and slammed into a home near Sandy.

Emergency crews responded to Fernwood Circle off Highway 26 on Monday morning.

Firefighters said the top of the tree destroyed one side of the home and sent debris flying in all directions.

The homeowner was on the other side of the house at the time and was not injured.

Firefighters said two cats were found in the home unharmed, but a third cat was believed to have escaped through the hole created by the tree and was not immediately located.
