HAPPY VALLEY, OR (KPTV) -

A homeowner woke up during a burglary in progress and confronted two suspects who are now facing criminal charges, according to police.

Happy Valley police responded to a burglary report on the 10000 block of Walnut Road early Monday morning.

The homeowner told police that two suspects entered the home while everyone inside was asleep. The homeowner woke up and confronted the suspects, who then ran away from the scene.

Happy Valley officers, Clackamas County deputies and a Portland police K-9 team responded to the area to search for the suspects.

Tracy Lee Upshaw, 18, of Portland, and Sarah Lynne Mawson, 22, of Tigard, were both arrested. They were booked into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary.

"Information provided by the homeowner along with the quick police response led to the capture of both suspects," according to a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office release.
