PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputy received minor injuries after a pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in a crash Monday night.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said shortly after 6 p.m., a caller reported that a man and a woman attempted to steal his pickup.

Deputies said the caller pulled the male suspect out of the vehicle. The female suspect then moved over to the driver's seat and tried to drive away, but crashed into a telephone pole.

CCSO said during the altercation, the male suspect reached around his waistband and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim chased the suspects southbound on McLoughlin Boulevard, but lost sight of them.

Deputies requested assistance from the Milwaukie Police Department to search for the suspects.

Milwaukie officers saw one person who matched the description of the suspects and were then alerted to another stolen vehicle leaving a car sales lot.

Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away.

CCSO began a pursuit of the vehicle after the driver failed to stop. The pursuit traveled to McLoughlin Blvd at Southeast Vineyard Road where a PIT maneuver was used to stop the vehicle.

CCSO said during the PIT maneuver, a crash happened between the stolen vehicle and a deputy's patrol car.

The deputy received only minor injuries during the crash, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Both suspects in the second stolen vehicle matched the description of the suspects from the report of the first stolen vehicle, according to investigators.

Both suspects were taken into custody. They were identified Tuesday as Arthur S. Lane, 50, of Anaheim, California, and Shannon D. Madison, 43, of Anaheim, California.

Lane is facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault, attempt to elude a police officer and recklessly endangering. Madison was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and attempt to elude a police officer.

Lane was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked in jail.
