GOVERNMENT CAMP, OR (KPTV) -

Mount Hood received over a foot of snow between Sunday and Monday and nearly two feet since Friday.

“There’s no other feeling like it. Fresh turns. Best feeling there is,” Alex Bondarenko said.

On March 14, 2015 at Government Camp, there was a high of 54 degrees and there wasn’t even an inch of snow on the ground. This year, there is almost five feet of snow at Ski Bowl at 5,000 feet.

Ski Bowl’s parking lot was packed, especially for a Monday.

“Snow is coming back,” skier John Vassallo said. “Maybe we’re going to get that second winter.”

The snow did bring problems for those driving. A head-on crash backed up traffic Monday afternoon, closing Highway 26 in Boring for a short time.

Rescue crews had to free people in the vehicles involved in the accident.
