GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Police arrested seven people at a city council meeting in Gresham Tuesday afternoon.

The city recently closed a 60-acre section of the Spring Water Trail called the Gresham Woods, and many homeless people have taken to camping in nearby residential areas as a result.

The meeting was called after homeowners said they felt threatened by the presence of many homeless people in that area.

The protesters were demanding the city reopen the trail for homeless campers.

Gresham Police arrested Dax Cozzetto, 19, Chris Cozzetto, 42, Steven Kimes, 50, Melanie Rosenthal, 31, Anastasia Moseley, 40, Christopher Hutchinson, 35,  and Jeff Singer, 28.

All were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct.
