Police: Women stealing booze caught with meth, stolen IDs and credit cards

BATTLE GROUND, WA (KPTV) -

Two women stealing alcohol from a Battle Ground store were caught with drugs, drug paraphernalia and several stolen driver's licenses and credit cards, according to police.

Officers responded to the Albertsons store in Battle Ground on March 7 on reports of two women stealing alcohol.

During the arrest, officers said they not only found stolen alcohol and other products, but also drugs, including methamphetamine. 

Janae Kelley, 36, of Portland, was booked into jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and third-degree theft. She also had an active felony arrest warrant, according to police.

Brittani Newton, 30, of Portland, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance – legend drugs, and one count of third-degree theft.

Police released a photo Wednesday of the items recovered during the arrest.
