Portland police said 79-year-old Andrew Griener of Portland was found safe at a family member's home Friday morning.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 79-year-old man.

Police say Andrew Griener left his southeast Portland home, which is located in the area of Southeast 106th Avenue and Burnside Street, at about noon Thursday and has not returned. He was walking with the assistance of a walker and has his right arm in a sling.

He may have been headed to the RiteAid near Southeast 117th Avenue and Division Street. Police say it is likely he would have used TriMet to get there.

His family told police it is unusual for him to be gone this long and they are concerned for his welfare.

Griener is described as a white male, 5’9” tall, and 182 pounds. He was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, white pants, and white sneakers.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911, and anyone with non-emergency information should contact Detective Lori Fonken at (503) 823-1081 or lori.fonken@portlandoregon.gov.
