CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

Crews battled a garage fire in Camas Friday morning, according to the Camas-Washougal Fire Department.

At approximately 8 a.m., a resident living in the 4000 block of Northwest Mcintosh Road noticed smoke outside the kitchen window.

According to fire crews, further investigation found that the garage was on fire.

Two people living in the home evacuated and were able to call 911.

Initial on-scene crews found the attached garage of the home fully involved in fire.

According to fire crews, the lack of water made it difficult to put out the flames, and took 1,500 feet of hose to reach the nearest hydrant.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in 30 minutes, according to the Camas-Washougal Fire Department.

According to fire crews, the fire was contained to the garage and did not extend into the home.
