A law enforcement operation spanning two counties led to the arrest of two drug trafficking suspects and the seizure of heroin and cocaine.

The Clark Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force and the Clackamas Interagency Task Force conducted the joint operation Thursday.

Detectives said Artemisa Guerreromuro, 38, and Mario Cuevasradillo, 41, were arrested after attempting to deliver several ounces of heroin to a location in Clackamas.

They were booked into the Clackamas County Jail on the charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance-heroin.

Later that night, task force members served a warrant in connection with the case on the 15600 block of Northeast Hickory Street in Vancouver.

Investigators said Clark Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force K-9 Piper alerted on a small box of Christmas decorations in the garage.

Detectives said they found 5 ounces of cocaine and 1 3/4 pounds of heroin, along with $7,000 in cash.

"The dog is a great asset to our mission. She proved it last night. We made a small dent in the ever present and growing heroin dealing that happens in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area," said Sgt. Kevin Allais of the Clark Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force.
