PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Fire and Rescue crews responded to their second duck rescue in the past three days Tuesday.

Crews were called to rescue eight ducklings found in a storm drain near North Marine Drive and Suttle Road at 9:45 am.

While those ducklings were successfully rescued, crews found the mother duck and two other ducklings already deceased in a parking lot near the drain.

Staff with the department are caring for the ducks until they can be transferred to the Audubon Society.
