PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich will be missing from the Oregon voters’ pamphlet, because his campaign forgot to file it in time.

This news comes two days before Kasich is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Portland. He will be holding a town hall style meeting at Castaway in Northwest Portland on Thursday afternoon.

“Those things happen. Somebody just goofed,” Republican voter Bernie Blazek said.

It’s a goof that could have a big impact on the Republican presidential primary.

Bruce Starr is a volunteer and member of the Oregon Kasich leadership team. He joined the team after the filing mistake.

“We’ve had campaigns that have missed the Voters' Pamphlet filing and still won in this state before and we can do it again,” Starr said.

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz share a full page with photos and bios. Kasich is nowhere to be found.

“Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but at the end of the day, what kind of a campaign the governor runs and his team runs between now and May 17 is more important,” Starr said.

In most presidential primary years, the nominees are decided before the vote ever gets to Oregon. But, this year, Oregon’s vote for the presidential nominees will be big, with important delegates on the line.

Cruz and Kasich have teamed up to try and prevent Trump from getting the delegates needed for the nomination and send it to a contested convention. They will divide their efforts -- with Kasich focusing on Oregon and New Mexico and Cruz focusing on Indiana.

“He’s going to make the case to Oregon voters why he’s the right guy to take on Hillary in the fall,” Starr said.
