KELSO, WA (KPTV) -

A man caught in a "citizen sting" pleaded guilty to the charge of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and was sentenced to one month in jail.

Adam Olson, 36, pleaded guilty on March 30 and was sentenced in court Tuesday.

Olson was arrested in March after a group of people in Kelso posed as an underage girl using an anonymous chat app called Whisper.

They said Olson, using the screen name "Lonely Man," agreed to meet an underage girl at Tam O'Shanter Park in Kelso. When he arrived, the group met him and forced him to call police to turn himself in.

As part of his sentencing Tuesday, Olson was ordered to undergo a sex offender evaluation and have no contact with minors without pre-approval. He will also be on probation for one year and must register as a sex offender.
