SCAPPOOSE, OR (KPTV) -

An owl that was hanging from a branch and tangled in fishing line over the Multnomah Slough was rescued Wednesday, thanks to a team effort by multiple agencies.

Firefighters with the Scappoose Fire District used a long pike pole as a perch, which the owl grabbed onto.

After the owl was lowered to the ground, a Columbia County Animal Control officer untangled the fishing line from around it.

The owl was then taken the Audubon Society for any medical care it might need.

Columbia County Sheriff Marine Patrol also assisted in the rescue.

The Scappoose Fire District posted photos of the rescue on its Facebook page.
