PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Voters who changed their political party near the registration deadline may receive two ballots in the mail.

The Multnomah County Elections Division said ballots are prepared for mailing two weeks prior to the registration deadline.

Voters who made a change to their party affiliation this month may receive two ballots as a result.

Those voters should wait for the second ballot to arrive to vote for their chosen political party, according to elections officials.

The first ballot won't be counted unless the second ballot is not voted.

Voters who made a change close to the registration deadline will be sent their ballot early next week, according to the elections division.

Multnomah County voters who do not receive a ballot by May 5 can call the elections office at 503-988-3720.
