COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, OR (KPTV) -

Students from schools throughout the Columbia River Gorge showed off their creative skills for a tech giant.

Teams of three to four students in middle or high school designed and created their own wind turbines for the Google Wind Challenge Saturday.

Judges used a powerful fan to judge the turbines speed and power.

Winners went home with prizes like trips to OMSI, small drones, and pizza parties.

This the third year in a row they have had the event.
