What moms really want for Mother's Day

Posted: Updated:

It’s just about time for moms everywhere to kick their feet up and get some TLC from their families.

Two national surveys show the number one thing moms want this year isn’t something you buy.

A 2016 Google consumer survey of more than one thousand women showed the top item on mom’s wish list for Mother’s Day is a day off, with 45 percent of them saying they just want a break.

Another survey by the discount site RetailMeNot showed only eight percent pf moms want to relax with a spa day.

Many moms said they just want to spend quality time with their kids on the holiday.

The second highest ranked gift in both Mother’s Day surveys is a nice meal.

Gift cards were among the top ranked gifts as well, with 15 percent of moms in the RetailMeNot survey saying that would be their pick.

According to the RetailMeNot survey the old stand-by, a Mother’s day bouquet, was one of the lower ranked gifts with only seven percent of moms saying they would like flowers.

One of the most eyebrow raising statistics in the survey is that 21 percent of respondents said sending a text wishing mom a happy Mother’s Day is acceptable.

Whatever you do just remember to do something, 11 percent of people admitted to forgetting Mother’s Day all together.

Mother’s Day is this this Sunday.
