A piece of art was stolen from the Reed College campus Saturday night and campus officials are asking for help finding those responsible.

A Reed College spokesman said one of two carved wooden panels located in the east foyer of Eliot Hall was stolen over the weekend.

The art piece was created by Portland wood carver Leroy Setziol.

Officials said the missing wooden panel is approximately 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide and weighs about 100 pounds.

The panel is believed to have been stolen between 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

Reed officials said the art is a one-of-a-kind piece and has great symbolic significance to the collage.

The college is willing to forgo criminal charges if the art is returned in the next two days.

Anyone with information on the theft should contact Reed College.
