KETCHIKAN, AK (KPTV) -

A fisherman in Alaska recorded some incredible up-close video of a whale feeding.

Strike Zone Sportfishing in Ketchikan posted a video on Facebook Monday that shows a massive humpback whale surfacing just feet from a dock in Knudson Cove Marina.

The company said whales have been feeding in the marina for several days.

According to National Geographic, humpback whales in Alaska often team up to feed on herring and other fish, using a technique called "bubble-net feeding."

The process involves blowing bubbles and vocalizing to scare and confuse the fish, which drives them close to the surface where the whales can scoop them up.

By Wednesday morning, Strike Zone's video had racked up nearly 10,000 views on Facebook.
