CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -

Even though Donald Trump no longer needs victories in Oregon and Washington to win the GOP nomination, he is still planning to swing through the Pacific Northwest this week.

A spokesperson with the Trump campaign told Fox 12 Wednesday that the candidate wants to make a stop in Vancouver this weekend, but they cannot find a venue.

Trump Campaign Coordinator Joel Mattila said staff has tried the Clark County fairgrounds, the Washington School for the Deaf and Doc Harris Stadium in Camas, all without luck.

Staffers have also tried to work with the county’s larger school districts, but due to scheduled sporting events and graduations there is not space available.

Mattila said the campaign is now making a public appeal in an effort to keep the event going. He said they would prefer to hold the event in Clark County, but would consider spaces in Portland.

Organizers are looking for a space that is at least 15,000 square feet in size, and would even consider a venue such as an empty warehouse.

“If we can find a space, we’re pretty sure he’ll come,” Mattila said.

Anyone wanting to suggest a space can email organizers at trumpclarkcounty@gmail.com.

The Oregon state director for the Trump campaign, Jacob Daniels, confirmed to Fox 12 that Trump will head to Eugene Friday, where he will speak at the Lane County Event Center at the Lane County Fairgrounds at 7:00 p.m.

Daniels said that even with the GOP field now down to just Trump, there is still lots of campaigning to do in Oregon.

“We are still on our way to getting delegates and we want to build a bigger cushion. We are treating Oregon like there’s Republican opponents still in the race," he said. "There’s six long months ahead of campaigning, and even though we had a successful evening last night,  it’s a marathon.”

As for upcoming visits on Democratic side, former President Bill Clinton will be in Portland Thursday campaigning for his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
