Home destroyed by fire near Sherwood

SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

A fire completely destroyed a home near Sherwood Wednesday morning.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue crews responded to the fire, located in the 19000 block of Southwest 198th Place, around 10 a.m.

Firefighters responded to the home and began a defensive attack on the fire from outside the home. 

The home is located in a wooden area, and in an area without fire hydrants. Water was shuttled to the scene.

Crews battled the fire for about 40 minutes until it was controlled. A portion of the home collapsed while firefighters were battling the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

TVFandR said the homeowner and three other people who live in the home are all safe.

Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
