WASHOUGAL, WA (KPTV) -

A neighborhood dispute in rural Skamania County, WA has turned ugly, with notes posted threatening the deaths of pets, and most recently, a help wanted sign soliciting convicted felons.

One homeowner who contacted FOX 12 said he recently found one of his cats shot to death, and suspected that his neighbor immediately to the east is responsible for mysterious notes.

The man, who preferred to remain anonymous, was recently granted a no-harassment order against his neighbor, who has a felony conviction, and was recently arrested for illegally possessing a firearm.

Other neighbors confirmed seeing the strange notes, which are unsigned, and have been left in a variety of places.

Neighbors also told FOX 12 that Skamania County Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate the various written threats.

A call to the Skamania County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday was not returned.
