PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A crash involving a semi-truck closed several lanes on the southbound deck of the Marquam Bridge during the Thursday morning commute.

The crash took place near the fork to I-405 and I-5 around 5 a.m.

Officials said a Fed Ex semi-truck hit the median and was struck from behind by a car. A pickup truck then smashed into that car,  which crushed it up against the semi-truck.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said about 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway. A crash barrier is also damaged.

Crews blocked off the storm drains to prevent any of the fuel from spilling into the Willamette, ODOT said.

Firefighters said both the middle and right lanes are closed while they work to clear the scene.

The southbound ramp to I-5 is also closed, according to ODOT.

There are no reports of injuries.

The affected lanes were reopened to traffic shortly before 10 a.m.
