Man with dementia returns home after walking away from care facility

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The Clark County Sheriff's Office said Alfonso Morales safely returned home on his own around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Clark County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help Thursday finding a dementia patient who went missing after walking away from his Vancouver care facility.

Deputies said Alfonso Morales, 71, left a facility in the 17700 block of Northeast 31st Street sometime Thursday morning.

Morales appears to have left with his personal belongings in a black garbage bag.

Deputies described Morales as 5 ft. 2 in. tall and 140 pounds with dark graying hair. He wears glasses and may be wearing dark-colored jeans and a jacket.

Morales speaks broken English and becomes easily confused and agitated.

Anyone with information on Morales' whereabouts should call 911.
