Memorial Highway sign for fallen Clackamas Deputy unveiled in Salem

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon Law Enforcement Memorial Trust unveiled a Memorial Highway Sign on Thursday for Clackamas County Deputy Bill Bowman.

Deputy Bowman died at age 36 during a training accident at Camp Rilea on September 12, 2000.

ODOT has not determined a location for the sign, but it will be posted once the decision is made.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Bowman was also honored with a memorial bench at the Sheriff's Office North Station and a Marine Unit patrol boat christened in his memory.
